On September 15th, 2011, OMC Computers & Communications, Ltd. acquired JerusaHost.
OMC, headed by Yohay and Asaf Azulay, has been at the forefront of Israeli computer sales since 1995 with 3 branches in northern Israel and a staff of more than 40. The main office is located on Derech Akko 58 in Kiryat Bialik. In addition to retail computer sales, OMC also has a business division as well as an internet services division. Of the number of potential candidates we interviewed, we felt OMC was the best match to take over operations based on their excellent track record, their success in web hosting, their broad server infrastructure and multi-lingual personalized customer service. As a JerusaHost customer, you can expect the same level of reliability and service with the benefit of a larger server network. Yohay has informed me that he plans to add Europe & Asia shared hosting locations, just a couple of perks that lie in store.
The JerusaHost brand will remain intact and the hosting services will continue to operate as usual. This means that any plans that have already been paid for will continue to receive service for the entire duration of the service period. On a personal note, I am going to be moving away from the internet to pursue some of my offline interests. In fewer than two and a half years, JerusaHost went from a hobby host to a full-service international host with a clientele spanning 18 countries. It became clear that JerusaHost needed more personnel involved to continue to grow and that I would not be the one to lead it, so please welcome OMC. Yohay & Asaf are extremely capable and likable. CD did not want chocolate on her sundae so she put on a lot of caramel and sprinkles instead. Although she won the sudae contest on the merits of her answer, JerusaHost is nevertheless proud to have a local Jerusalemite as the winner. Her winning answer is posted below:
Q. How can an Israeli server location, dedicated ip address, and/or Israeli domain name extension benefit a business in Israel?
A. People who are doing business in a specific place want other people to know that they can be located and found. Even though they are putting themselves out there on the internet, they want people to see them as the local specialists of their town. Their reputation is built mostly on word of mouth and even though most of their customers are close to home, their having a website is a good thing. It is a way to communicate with the customers and it also can help expand business beyond the local area. Israel is like a small town. It is smaller than New Jersey so if you show co.il on your domain it means you are reachable in Israel. I guess the Israel server location and dedicated ip address would also help if someone is looking up your site's details or probably if a search engine is trying to figure out if your business really is where you say it is. That would give you a better ranking.
